Some Voices raises £1450 for Save Our Venues campaign

Some Voices choir is all about community and this term our fundraising efforts have been focused on the venues that make up part of our community. The choir has raised £1,450 for the Save Our Venues campaign, supporting UK venues that have been hard hit by the pandemic, including one of our partner venues, the Clapham Grand.

Instead of our usual live quiz night, choir members put together an online quiz, themed around live music and featuring rounds including Deadpan Lyrics, Guess the Intro and an old favourite, Does it Float?

The quiz was expertly hosted by Steve Mulley and Jane Laurie, and featured cameos from choir leader Sophie Winter and Musical Director Curtis Stansfield.

In addition, choir member and resident artist Sunnie Newby of Ninety-Five Prints created and sold a bespoke, limited edition poster featuring some of Some Voices’ favourite London venues, as well as offering choir members the chance to buy souvenir artwork from some of our past performances. All proceeds went towards the campaign.

With Quiz tickets and poster sales combined, £1,450 was raised for the Save Our Venues Campaign. Ally Wolf from the Clapham Grand who joined us on the Zoom quiz call said:

It’s incredibly kind of you all and we are all so so grateful.
