New choir in Wimborne, Dorset starting soon
Some Voices is opening its 6th choir outside London later this month, with a brand new branch in Wimborne, Dorset. As part of our mission to make singing together available to as many people as possible, we are building up our family of choirs around the country.
The Wimborne choir will be led by locally based conductor and composer Darren Bartlett. Darren’s works have been performed worldwide and have featured on BBC Television and Radio, Canadian TV and US TV channels. As a solo artist Darren has toured overseas and has performed at venues including The Hollywood Bowl.
"I’m a true believer in the gift of music and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion and experience in this exciting new Some Voices choir in Wimborne. We will be creating a wonderful place for the community to come together and sing without pressure or formality.” Darren Bartlett, Choir Leader
Rehearsals begin on 29th September on Thursday evenings at the Allendale Centre on Hanham Road.
You can come along and try out the choir for free in a taster session - find more details at : somevoices.co.uk/wimborne.
All of our choirs learn the same songs and rehearse every term towards an end of term performance with the same theme. This term’s theme is Choir Actually, where we’ll be bringing to life the soundtrack to the movie Love Actually and creating our own versions of some of the film’s most iconic moments.
