BBC Radio and TimeOut feature Some Voices Virtual Sessions
Some Voices are back with virtual choir sessions during the latest UK lockdown. Starting in January, these sessions have now been extended until 17th March 2021 and are open to everyone.
Choir members old and new have been loving the sessions which take place every Wednesday on Zoom. And now the media are picking up the story and sharing their love for the Some Voices mission, starting with TimeOut London:
“Fact: singing makes you feel better. Unfortunately, IRL choirs are out of the question right now. And that’s where Some Virtual Voices comes in [with] a series of online classes to help recreate the in-person experience. The best bit? Because you’re alone, you can really belt out those high notes – and maybe even unleash some dance moves.”

On Saturday 6th Feb, our Musical Director Curtis Stansfield was interviewed by renowned vocal coaches David and Carrie Grant on BBC Radio London.
“Fancy belting out a few notes on Zoom? Some Voices is the UK's most exciting non-audition pop choir. They’ve launched their lockdown sessions to give you at home a chance to sing your heart out with other members." David Grant, BBC Radio
After playing a recording of the choir singing Coldplay’s Fix You, the presenters exclaimed "Sounds amazing! Wow - that was Some Voices – there are some voices in there!”. When asked how the choir keeps going despite being separated, Curtis replied:
“Music is the vehicle that brings people together. It’s the sense of community and doing the same thing at the same time as other people.” Curtis Stansfield, Some Voices

Finally, the Clapham Grand, long term venue partners of the choir also released this message:
“We LOVE Some Voices ❤️
Some Voices first took over our stage (completely took over it with over 100 singers!) for 6 shows back in 2019, and it's been a match made in heaven ever since!
Their choir members (apart from being awesome singers) are all absolutely wonderful humans, and we were gutted when their 2020 shows were cancelled. Getting themselves back up and running hasn't been easy, but they have conquered the challenge and have launched their lockdown sessions online.
We highly recommend you join them, and stay connected through this lockdown with the joy of singing together!” Clapham Grand
