Some Voices runs a series of weekly rehearsals, lead by our team of brilliant choir leaders. Every leader has a background in performing and teaching music, and they each bring something special to their rehearsals.

Alice Keys

ALICE MORGAN - soho and holborn

Alice has run multiple choirs and communal singing workshops around London and Kent. She has worked as a musician on cruise ships and in hotels around the world and now has several residencies playing the piano and singing in London bars and venues, which she frequently turns into a mass singalong!

REBECCA BAXTER

bex BAXTER (REBECCA) - st albans

Bex runs multiple choirs (with Some Voices being her favourite!), as well as vocal workshops specialising in outreach, education and community projects. Rebecca has been a member of the Some Voices team since January 2016 and has loved every moment. She truly enjoys and appreciates the excitement of multiple voices singing together, and says Some Voices rehearsals are “genuine highlights” of her week!

Caitlin Blogg

CAITLIN BLOGG - hammersmith and borough

Caitlin is a freelance singing teacher, vocalist and musical theatre performer originally from Northamptonshire and has been living in London for over 6 years.

Having started off as a vocalist in Some Voices Company Choir, she launched our Hammersmith choir in 2023 and excited to be leading our Borough choir too. Caitlin loves bringing out the best in people and thrives off seeing people having a great time.

Catherine Courtley

CATHERINE COURTLEY - margate

Catherine is an experienced vocal leader who has been running musical groups and choirs around London and East Kent since 2016. She also hosts regular choral workshops and her choir arrangements have been performed by The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and choirs up and down the country. 

Catherine is also General Manager in the Some Voices team. As you'd expect, she is generally crazy about choirs and the joy that comes from uniting people through the power of singing. She can't wait to bring the incredible vocal arrangements and feel-good vibes of Some Voices to Margate!  

CHRISTINA CARTY - herne hill, shoreditch & islington

Christina directs five choirs a week in and around London. Her flagship choir Vocallective has been running for 12 years. She also delivers Musical Teambuilding workshops for corporations and charities, teaches online singing for mental health and coaches singers in person too.

She loves the buzz of Some Voices and is so happy to have been working with us since 2019.

DARREN BARTLETT - wimborne

A lifetime of musical experience working with choirs of all ages and recognised choral composer with over 300 titles, Darren's works have been performed and recorded in many arenas worldwide and have featured on both BBC Television and Radio. As a solo artist Darren has toured internationally and performed at prestigious venues from The Hollywood Bowl to the Birmingham Symphony Hall. A true believer in the gift of music, Darren is dedicated to passing on his knowledge and experience to the latest venture of Some Voices based in Wimborne and looks forward to discovering new local talent

EMMA STUBBS - PARIS

Emma is a Franco-British singer, songwriter and primary school teacher, passionate about music's uplifting power and how it brings people together, bridging the generation gap ! She also plays the piano and the ukulele. She was a member of Some Voices London and now lives in Paris. 

“I am so excited about the opportunity to launch a Some Voices choir in Paris! Being part of it when I was living in London was such a fun and extraordinary experience, I am thrilled to be able to build a community in France and to share the love, joy and passion for singing which Some Voices is all about!”

FRIDOLIJN VAN POLL - amsterdam

Fridolijn is an Amsterdam based singer and song-writer known with millions of Spotify streams, international shows on stages like Billboard Live Tokyo, North Sea Jazz Festival, The Tabernacle London, and Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and press coverage on blogs like Written in Music and NoDepression, Fridolijn has steadily been making a name for herself.

“I think singing together is the most beautiful and fun thing in the world. It brings us together in a way nothing else does. That’s why I can’t wait to start this choir, and have it be all about the joy and fun of making music together, and feeling a little more connected to others.”

Hannah Blackett

HANNAH BLACKETT - york

Hannah was born in Yorkshire and is a Music and Performance graduate of Goldsmiths College London. 

She has many years experience of singing professionally, vocal coaching in schools, private tuition and theatre. Hannah absolutely loves leading community choirs and having recently studied Estill vocal training, she has a wealth of knowledge to share on performance technique, vocal health, placement and breath management. 

She is beyond excited to be bringing a little Some Voices musical magic to York. 

Jade Williams

JADE WILLIAMS - brighton

JADE trained in Classical and Opera from a young age, was a Specialist Singer and chorister at the prestigious Wells Cathedral School and studied at the London College of Music.

Jade has been a session musician and singer for 20 years and an original artist in her own right, known as Jade Like The Stone.

Jade is currently Head of Songwriting at Waterbear - Britain’s most cutting edge music college.

James Burns

JAMES BURNS - woolwich and peckham

James is a singer and musician from Portsmouth - now living in Woolwich! He studied Music Technology at university, but he has been involved in singing and leading choirs since he was 14; currently he’s helping write and record a new musical!
James enjoys sharing his love of music with everyone that he comes across; and encouraging people into their best and most confident selves!

Singing is my favourite thing to do, and I love what it achieves - it lifts others up, and creates a feeling like no other! I’m really excited to work with all of you to make some beautiful sounds together.”

JONATHAN GROSBERG - bristol

Jonathan has enjoyed varied experience in the arts as a performer, composer, musical director, vocal coach and choir leader. He is currently working as Head of Music and Singing at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He is a firm believer that singing is a joy that should be open to everyone. He can’t wait to start a Some Voices choir in Bristol that celebrates the community spirit that Bristolians are known for. 

Joshua Barr

JOSHUA BARR - finsbury park

Josh has been in London since 2018, running the Pop-Up Choir in South London, and singing in London Contemporary Voices. He recently enjoyed touring as a backing vocalist with Tom Odell, and has previously performed with Keane, Orlando Weeks, Elena Tonra, and Alev Lenz.

For Josh, singing is all about fun, community, and connecting with others - he loves leading our Finsbury Park crew!

Lauren Dyer

LAUREN DYER - dalston

Lauren is a vocalist, vocal director and creative facilitator. Originally from Northern Ireland, Lauren has made a home here in Hackney, London where she works as a freelance Musician. She thrives when performing onstage, leading groups of voices and inspiring communities through the power of song and creative music making.  She has worked alongside Laura, Curtis and the Some Voices team since 2012 and is super excited to be leading the Dalston choir! 

"My passion is to use my voice to make music and inspire others to share and create together.  I love that my job means I get to collaborate with like minded people who also have a passion for music each week."

LEA CORNTHWAITE

LEA CORNTHWAITE - newcastle

LEA is a singer and workshop leader with more than twenty years of experience of performing, directing choirs and leading vocal workshops in many genres of music all across the country from Aberdeen to Plymouth. He has run Some Voices choirs since 2015, and they remain some of his favourite groups to work with.

LUKE SAYDON

LUKE SAYDON - wimbledon

Luke Saydon is a musical director, composer and theatre practitioner. He grew up and trained in Malta, moving to the wonderful UK in 2016. Since then he’s led several community choirs, works as a resident writer and performer at the V&A Museum, and has been the musical director for Chickenshed Theatre Company in Kensington & Chelsea.

MARION WYLLIE

MARION WYLLIE - strand and clapham

Marion is a freelance singing teacher, choir leader and ceilidh caller based in London. As a singer herself, Marion knows how much of a buzz people get from singing in a choir; she loves doing any job that allows her to share the sheer joy of music!

Natasha Burns

NATASHA BURNS - portsmouth

Natasha is a south-coast based musician with over 15 years of experience performing, teaching, and directing choirs all over the world from Bristol to Bangkok. Currently combining lecturing at the University of Southampton with private work, Natasha is deeply passionate about making the joy of singing accessible to all. 

Fuelled by the vibrant community spirit of Portsmouth, Natasha is excited to bring the infectious enthusiasm of Some Voices to the vibrant music scene that the city is known for. 

SOPHIE WINTER

SOPHIE WINTER - stroud

Sophie is a singer, conductor and theatre maker. She has worked with Some Voices as a conductor and singer since 2015 and has loved every minute of it! Sophie also runs Some Voices’ wedding choir as well as outreach choirs across the UK. As a conductor, Sophie enjoys encouraging people to become confident singers, both as vocalists and performers. She moved to Stroud is 2022 and started up our fantastic choir there.

TOM MARLOW- cambridge

Tom is a music teacher in a secondary school and believes that every child has the right to an exciting and fulfilling musical education. He feels exactly the same towards his musical work with adults, and loves the sense of joy and community music that can bring to all!

Since graduating from the University of Cambridge, Tom has played violin in local orchestras, been Musical Director for many amateur dramatic performances, led a handful of community choirs, and enjoyed music making for people with dementia. Tom lives and breathes music and loves leading Some Voices Cambridge.
