Some Voices was established in 2010 by Musical Directors Laura Howe and Curtis Stansfield and is a rapidly-growing choir company, now rehearsing in 25 locations across the UK and more recently launching its first international choirs in Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin and Helsinki.
Our professional and semi-professional choirs are also in high demand with regular TV and radio appearances, including supporting Sam Ryder at last year’s Royal Variety Performance, singing with Mika on C4’s The Piano Christmas Special and launching the Comic Relief Pedal Power Challenge for BBC Radio 1.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Communications and Events Co-ordinator is a brand new hands-on role within the Some Voices team, which will help to support various members of the team across most areas of our business.
From working to create and deliver key communications and updates to our 2000+ choir members, to providing admin support on the ground at our larger events and rehearsals, to helping to source and book gigs for our choirs, this is a wide-ranging and exciting opportunity for anyone who is looking to quickly build experience and become a trusted part of the team in a fast-growing arts business.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Your previous experience won’t be as important to us as your ability to get stuck in and approach tasks with a bucketload of enthusiasm, eagerness and willingness to learn on the job.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll be tech-savvy and comfortable with learning on the job to pick up new skills, quickly becoming familiar with new apps and systems as we continually seek to stay ahead of the technological advancements which will help to progress the business.
You’ll also be a natural communicator, super organised and enjoy writing clear, concise and engaging copy, with a keen eye for detail and eye-catching visuals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend weekly team meetings to understand the latest business priorities and where your comms, admin and events support are currently most needed.
Drive the creation and delivery of key membership comms throughout the term, ensuring choir members always have the most up-to-date, useful and engaging information to help them get the most out of their Some Voices membership.
Update key marketing channels under the guidance of our Marketing Director, including the Some Voices website, Brevo, DICE/EventBrite, Canva and YouTube.
Ensure choir members can quickly and easily access key information about their rehearsals and performances at any time, and help to create engaging copy, artwork and video content that support our business and marketing objectives.
Take the lead on charity initiatives, driving communications about charities we’re supporting and organising charity activities and events as required.
Work closely with our Show Producers to set up and manage show ticket sales and provide general administrative support ‘on the ground’ for our larger London performances, rehearsals and events.
Update and maintain our automated emails, setting up key communications as required ready for each new term.
Support the wider team by helping respond to inbox queries during busy periods and team absences.
Help to source and book performances for our membership choirs, under the guidance of our Show Producers.
Provide general administrative support as and when required across the team.
Champion the Some Voices experience and brand while supporting our important customer care journey.

OTHER ROLES AVAILABLE WITH SOME VOICES
CHOIR LEADERS
We are always looking for energetic and confident people to lead our non-audition contemporary choirs around the UK. We focus on creating a fun and inclusive environment for all to enjoy singing together, whatever their ability and experience. This position offers excellent opportunities to advance your leadership skills, inspire members, and create a local choir community; as well as involvement in exciting performance and recording experiences.
THE POSITION
As one of our leaders, you will teach material written and arranged by Some Voices and prepare members for performances. Our rehearsals welcome members into a space where they can develop their vocal and performance skills, as well as create friendships within a diverse community. Our HQ team provide all the resources and support needed to create this environment through teaching a repertoire of pop material in a dynamic and inclusive way. You’ll be part of a network of friendly choir leaders around the country, who support each other and share learnings.
SCOPE OF WORK
You will lead weekly choir rehearsals across our term based structure. We have 3 terms a year, each consisting of:
10 weekly rehearsals running from 7pm - 8.30pm
Teaching 8 songs based around a theme. Past themes have included: ‘Festival Headliners’, ‘Hollywood Hits’, ‘Choir Clubland’, ‘Top of Your Pops’ (90s) and ‘Studio 54’ (Disco).
Preparing members for a gig each term led by either yourself, or a national 'hub' leader
Our typical choir has around 25 -100 members with an average age range of 24yrs-50yrs old. We do not use sheet music with our singers as we aim to be as inclusive as possible; parts are learned by ear with additional online resources to help members practice at home.
Our HQ team books venues for rehearsals and shows, with input from National choir leaders as to suitable spaces.
Our central marketing team promotes all choirs and shows, with input from leaders being crucial to the growth of each choir.
Additional performance and rehearsal opportunities are often available as our choirs are often booked for radio, TV, festivals and corporate events.
Fees are fixed per rehearsal - details can be provided on application - with potential for extra sesssions and bonuses.
