So you have decided to record your voice only, brilliant! We’ll need your recording by 10pm on Sunday 26th April.

Here is how you do it…

1 Your iPhone / Android microphone is GREAT, and remember you don’t need to sing really loud into it - it’ll pick everything up just fine without shouting.

2 Please use headphones so that we DON’T hear the track as well - we only want to hear your wonderful voice.

3 If your take isn’t perfect, it really doesn’t matter. Obviously give it your best shot, but if there are certain parts that aren’t quiet right, we will use the voodoo of technology to make tweaks.

4 And remember - what makes a wonderful choir sound is when we blend all of your voices together. All the different notes, tones, shapes and textures of different voices is what creates the magic of group singing. The occasional slightly off note really does not matter.

EXAMPLE SET UP - COMPUTER + PHONE

Track playing from your laptop / computer, into headphones.

Record your vocals into your phone.

EXAMPLE SET UP - iPHONE / SMART PHONE ONLY

Keep the phone at a consistent distance (don’t wave it around as you sing - keep it in one place).

Make sure your headphone cable isn’t knocking against anything and affecting the audio.

Some people like to go one ear in, one ear out with their headphones, to hear your voice in the room - it can help with pitching. Have a play around with what feels best for you before you press record.

If audio only (and not video) - use the VOICE MEMOS app (on iPhone) or or VOICE RECORDER (Android)

You can use the VOICE MEMOS app (Mac)

OR

QUICKTIME PLAYER (Mac & PC), and select ‘New Audio Recording’.

We have updated your dropbox folder with parts and lyrics for this recording labelled 

“PRAISE YOU SHOT 1 - VIRTUAL GIG - YOUR VOICE PART”

“PRAISE YOU SHOT 2 - VIRTUAL GIG - YOUR VOICE PART”

“PRAISE YOU SHOT 3 - VIRTUAL GIG - YOUR VOICE PART”.

If you can’t find or don’t have that folder, here is one with all the voice parts in.

NOTE - you only need to sing YOUR voice part - eg Sop 1, OR Sop 2.

This is SUPER important for when we edit everything together so please make sure you label your recording when you send it over like this:

VOICE PART - YOUR NAME - SONG TITLE - SHOT NUMBER - THE OPTION YOU CHOSE
