Every term we carefully select a charity to support throughout our choir activities, performances and social events. Last term we wanted to work with a charity very close to our hearts having tragically lost a member earlier in the year to a sever mental illness known as Post Postpartum Psychosis.
Throughout the term we’ve been busy raising awareness and vital funds for national charity Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP), who are dedicated to supporting mothers and families affected by the illness through their award-winning peer support services, research and public awareness campaigns.
Through social events, bespoke gig poster sales from Ninety Five Prints, and donations made throughout the performances of our Christmas Show ‘Seasonal Speakeasy’ at Troxy, Some Voices together with our 800 strong choir members and audiences have raised a staggering £5839.40 for APP.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank those who were able to contribute to this record breaking fundraising figure and the team at APP who were able to take part in our performances and speak bravely about their experiences with the illness.
+ Can you help us reach £6,000? If you weren’t able to take part in the event or donate, there’s still time! Simply text APPY10 £10 to 70070 to donate £10. e
