Laurel is trekking across the Sahara for CoppaFeel

I’m Laurel from the Peckham choir.

I might be crazy, but come November I will be trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert in the name of charity!

CoppaFeel is an epic cause, a charity which aims to raise awareness amongst young people, with the aim to install a new healthy habit that could one day save a life. Founded by the brilliant Kris Hallenga - a Some Voices ALUMNI (she used to be Shoreditch choir!) - after she was misdiagnosed at 23, being told she was too young to have breast cancer, 13 years later they are on a mission to stamp out late detection of breast cancer and ensure the nation is checking their boobs regularly, because KNOWING YOUR BOOBS COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE. I'm sure we've sadly all known someone this crappy disease has affected.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm somewhat lacking in physical prowess, which is why this is SUCH a big challenge for me. I would love any sponsorship support you can spare, even £1. Put it this way; if you know and like me enough you'd buy me a drink in the pub (which, after nearly 10 years in SV I should think would be a lot of you...) please sponsor meinstead (and buy me the drink after; I'll need it)! And if you DON'T know me, well there's five months to get to know me so you want to! :-) THANK YOU THANK YOU! X

Proudly Supporting CoppaFeel! Knowing your boobs could save your life.

Some Voices

SOME VOICES started small in 2010, with seven chorus members meeting up to perform original arrangements of popular classics that range from Bowie to Bjork, from Stevie Wonder to Stevie Nicks, from Folk to Hip Hop, and everything in between - all with a Some Voices twist.

Nine years down the line, more than 1500 singers are now part of the exciting ensemble that performs on some of the biggest stages in London. KOKO, The Southbank Centre, Oval Space,The Rivoli Ballroom, The Grand Clapham, HERE and The Troxy have all seen the group attract audiences in their thousands
