Our Term charity - The Princes Trust

Every term in Some Voices we support a charity of our choice. We fundraise throughout the term for them and include them in the big end of term gig too. We usually put it out to our members to nominate charities, but this term the leaders and internal team have nominated The Princes Trust.

The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps young people transform their lives by developing the confidence and skills to live, learn, and earn. The Prince’s Trust offers a variety of different programmes and services for young people aged between 11 and 30. The programmes and services are designed to support young people to develop and apply new and emerging skills.

Many of the young people helped by The Prince’s Trust are struggling at school or at risk of exclusion, have low aspirations, and are unemployed.

Young people may also be facing issues such as mental health difficulties, living in or leaving care, homelessness, have chaotic or unstable lifestyles, or have been in trouble with the law.

The Prince of Wales’ charity has helped over 970,000 young people since 1976 and supports over 100 more each day.

The next challenge for the trust is to support a million more young people across the next decade, so support from Some Voices will play an amazing part in helping to raise awareness for these young people, as well as share our message to a huge audience.

See the message to you all from Rhiannon who is just one of the young people The Prince’s Trust has supported.

Some Voices

SOME VOICES started small in 2010, with seven chorus members meeting up to perform original arrangements of popular classics that range from Bowie to Bjork, from Stevie Wonder to Stevie Nicks, from Folk to Hip Hop, and everything in between - all with a Some Voices twist.

Nine years down the line, more than 1500 singers are now part of the exciting ensemble that performs on some of the biggest stages in London. KOKO, The Southbank Centre, Oval Space,The Rivoli Ballroom, The Grand Clapham, HERE and The Troxy have all seen the group attract audiences in their thousands
